In the circuit, two op amps (half of an LM324 quad op amp) and an SCR are direct coupled in a de-voltage monitoring circuit. Op-amp U1-a is configured as a voltage follower, which feeds the bridged inputs of the second op amp, Ul-b. A resistor/capacitor combination (R2/C1) connected to the negative input of U1-b forms an RC time-delay circuit. Glitch Detector Circuit Schematic As long as there is no change in the de-voltage level at either of U1-b's inputs, its output is near zero. If a voltage glitch occurs, the RC timing circuit will delay the voltage change at the op amp's inverting input, causing its output to go high, triggering SCR1 and causing LED1 to light. The circuit's sensitivity allows it to detect voltage changes in the millivolt range. Pressing S1 diverts the SCR's holding current to ground, causing it to turn off and reset the circuit.

This Outdoor LED Solar Garden Lights project is a hobby circuit of an automatic garden light using a LDR and 6V/5W solar panel. During day time, the internal rechargeable 6 Volt SLA battery receives charging current from the connected solar panel through polarity protection diode D9 and current limiting resistor R10. If ambient light is normal, transistor T1 is reverse biased by IC1 (LM555). Here IC1 is wired as a medium current inverting line driver, switched by an encapsulated light detector (10mm LDR). Multi-turn trimpot P1 sets the detection sensitivity. When ambient light dims, transistor T1 turns on to drive the white LED string (D1-D8). Now this lamp load at the output of T1 energizes. Resistors R1-R8 limits the operating current of the LEDs. When the ambient light level restores, circuit returns to its idle state and light(s) switched off by the circuit. This circuit generates a dual-tone bells ringing similar to most door-bell units. It can be used in many applications other than door-bell. In the Notes below several options will be given in order to suit different needs. The circuit as shown in the diagram generates a "Ding-tone" when P1 is pressed and a "Dong-tone" when P1 is released. IC1D is the first-tone frequency generator and IC1F generates the second-tone. Q2, Q5 and related components act as shape and decay controls of the two tones, trying to imitate as close as possible the bells sound. Their outputs are mixed (R7 & R13), filtered (C5) and boosted by a simple class-A audio amplifier (Q3 & Q4) in order to drive the loudspeaker. The amplifier is switched-on by Q1 when P1 is pressed, then is switched-off some seconds after P1 is released: this time-delay is fixed by C1 & R2.
